Where I Find Inspiration
Inspiration to me is one thing that can drive us forward. Sometimes we do not know where to look for something inspiring. There are days where I can try to find it anywhere and everywhere. Yet I always come back to the same five places for it.
Travel
Being in new places opens my mind to want to see and learn. Finding out about how a town or natural park came to be, sparks creativity to use. There are times when I plan out an area to go and see or I find little gems along my drives or during my daily life. By changing scenery, I feel that there is always something new to discover.
Reading
I find that reading has always given me the ability to go to a different place, time, or world and experience life through a character. Reading both fiction and nonfiction books somehow help my mind wonder what a place looks and then imagine it. There is something stimulating to me, because when I use my brain in that way it will lead me to finding a source to help write or create art.
Nature
In other posts I have mentioned my love for nature. I believe that by going out into nature I find different sources of inspiration. It can be a light beam coming down through trees to the power force of rushing water falls. When being in places that man has barley touched, having grown and thrived in different ways mind blows me. It gives me the idea of letting my own creation flow out of me and be present in creating, as I was present looking at what is around me.
Positive Social Media
With the internet, we all know that there is negativity shown and spread on it. Yeah it’s okay to watch that funny video but I strive to find content that is coming from a positive place. I normally follow content creators that are artists, self growth teachers, and nature enthusiasts. One person I follow on Instagram and YouTube is Jonna Jinton. She is from Sweden and her content I find to be inspirational. Her photography and cinematography captures her beautiful village and daily life. Many times she will have videos contain so much nature through out each season, that it feels as if I am living in her part of the world. It is very meditative to me and when I want to be still or to ground I will put on her videos. Her content makes me want to capture the beauty of the world and to share it with others.
People
I have always loved listening and learning from people and their life lessons. Everyone has a story to tell about where they have come from and how they have gotten over hurdles. That is what I find to be inspiring. I believe this is also where my passion for learning of other cultures. Learning lessons or ways of thinking’s of other nationalities, I feel it could help me grow or expand, then I try to adopt it respectfully into my everyday life.
Now that I have shared with you about where I look for inspiration, I’d love to know what inspires you?
